Celebration of Samantha by: Kim Malphurs, Samantha's Club Volleyball Coach
I consider it a privilege to have the title "coach" in the part of my life I dedicate to the game of volleyball. To hear these girls, and to hear Sam call me "coach" is a great honor and a great source of pride. You strive to instill discipline, knowledge, love of the game itself, character, sportsmanship, competitive spirit and sense of team, not individual. And along the way a beautiful, skinny, amazing powerhouse makes you love the game even more and grips your heart with a strong bond of love and affection for a lifetime.
From the moment she entered my life I knew I was in the presence of something very special. On the court, and off. I thank GOD for allowing me to be a part of her life. I will miss those linebacker hugs! They were sometimes physically painful, but I cherish every one! She never missed an opportunity to let all of us know what we meant to her. Sam didn't live with regret. Sam truly lived life how it was meant to be lived. Sam made connections with our souls. That is permanent and will never leave us. I love you Sam.
